The parcel “Falkenlay” lies between “Fahrlay” and “Rothenpfad”. The soil here runs deeper and is defined by gray slate. This area is regarded by the older winemakers to be the “filet mignon” of the Marienburg. Due to its location, this area is protected from winds coming from the mountains to the east and thus the grapes are able to reach a special maturity. The wines produced from healthy grapes present with fruity tones, are creamy, rich, and have a mineral tone.
